Bettina
O'Mara began her film career within the Publicity
and Promotion department at Castle Rock Entertainment when it was in
its first few years of production and grew along side the company. Eventually
Bettina was running the Publicity and Promotion department as well as
handling all the Product Placement for the company's productions.
In 1993 Bettina started her own Product Placement Coordination Company
where Castle Rock remained a client as well as DreamWorks SKG, Revolution
Studios and numerous independent film companies.
In 1997 she partnered with Heath McLaughlin to form Mitchum Entertainment
bringing her marketing, promotion and placement skills to the high
quality films that they produced. Mitchum Entertainment was formed
for the purpose
of creating high quality, low budget motion pictures with a global
appeal. Their first production a romantic comedy called. "Just Write" starring
Sherilyn Fenn, Jeremy Piven. JoBeth Williams, Wallace Shawn, and Alex
Rocco received accolades from audiences and critics alike. The picture,
which won three of five film festivals, had a September 1998 theatrical
release became the hot pick at Blockbuster Video stores across the US.
In 1998 Mitchum produced "Walking Across Egypt" based upon
the book by Clyde Edgerton. Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Ellen Burstyn, Judge
Reinhold and Mark Hamill starred. Once again the film won rave reviews
and awards from the audience and festivals. The film had a blockbuster
premiere and will be shown on the Hallmark Channel Fall of 2001.
In 2000 Bettina O'Mara formed her own company, Visualeyes, with
the ability to finance, co-finance and greenlight projects.
